Cruises from Southampton (England)
22 Feb 2012
Located less than two hours by car from London, Southampton is the primary cruise departure port for the United Kingdom. Both Western European and Mediterranean itineraries originate at Southampton, most of them operated by Royal Caribbean International and Cunard Lines.
The exciting 18 night cruises aboard the Independence of the Seas takes vacationers to Lisbon, Barcelona, Rome and Naples, while the shorter 12 night cruise makes stops at Gran Canaria, Tenerife and Madeira.
Cunard also operates the 7 night transatlantic cruise to New York aboard the Queen Mary 2, and offers two cruises to the western Mediterranean.
Some cruises out of Southampton take passengers to Northern Europe as well, and there is plenty of accommodation in the area for those wanting to visit Southampton itself as part of their vacation package.
